Wayne Caparas's grandfather, Martin Victor Doucett, was a gifted violinist who played with such musical luminaries as Paul Whiteman (The King of Jazz) and Arthur Fiedler of Boston Pops fame, until the Great Depression, then WWII, then a family of four daughters finally forced him to put down to work as a bartender. From that point, Doucett never picked up his violin again.

Wayne is also a soulful vocal soloist and songwriter with credits on several CDs and other recordings. He released the independent CD "Gospel Project" in 2008 to favorable reviews. The album contains all original material written by Wayne.
